Hyundai Ioniq. AFLS (Adaptive Front Lighting System) a.k.a. DBL (Dynamic Bending Light)

Adaptive front lighting system uses the steering angle and vehicle speed, to keep your field of vision wide by swiveling and leveling the headlamp.

Change the switch to the AUTO position when the vehicle is in the ready (Hyundai Ioniq. AFLS (Adaptive Front Lighting System) a.k.a. DBL (Dynamic Bending Light)) mode. The adaptive front lighting system will operate when the headlamp is ON. To turn off the AFLS, change the switch to other positions. After turning the AFLS off, headlamp swiveling no longer occurs, but leveling operates continuously.

If the AFLS malfunction indicator comes on, the AFLS is not working properly. Drive to the nearest safe location and restart the vehicle (Hyundai Ioniq. AFLS (Adaptive Front Lighting System) a.k.a. DBL (Dynamic Bending Light) indicator ON). If the indicator continuously remains on, have the system be checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.

    Battery saver function The purpose of this feature is to prevent the battery from being discharged. The system automatically turns off the parking lamp when the driver turns the vehicle off and opens the driver-side door.

    WARNING Do not use the interior lights when driving in the dark.The interior lights may obscure your view and cause an accident. NOTICE Do not use the interior lights for extended periods when the vehicle is turned off or the battery will discharge.

    Replacement    When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver or use a prying trim tool, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage.1.Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.2.Recover the refrigerant with a recovery / recycling / charging station.

    Replacement1.Remove the battery (-) terminal.2.Remove the engine room under cover.(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Room Under Cover")3.Remove the heater hose (A) and AEWP hose (B).4.Disconnect the lock pin to remove the heater hose pump connector (A).
