Description
MAFS uses a hot-film type sensing element to measure the mass of intake air entering the engine, and send the signal to ECM.
A large amount of intake air represents acceleration or high load conditions while a small amount of intake air represents deceleration or idle.
The ECM uses this information to control the EGR solenoid valve and correct the fuel amount.

    Inspection1.Connect the GDS on the Data Link Connector (DLC).2.Measure the output voltage of the MAPS at idle and IG ON. Specification : Refer to "Specification"Removal 1.

    Replacement1.Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. 2.Remove the heater and blower assembly.(Refer to Heater - "Heater Unit") 3.Remove the evaporator core cover (A) after loosening the mounting screws.4.Pull out the evaporator temperature sensor (A) from the evaporator core.
