Hyundai Ioniq (AE): Airbag Module / Side Airbag (SAB) Module. Description and operation
The Side Airbags (SAB) are installed inside the front seat and protects the driver and passenger from danger when side crash occurs. The SRSCM determines deployment of side airbag by using Side Impact Sensor (SIS) signal.

| Never attempt to measure the circuit resistance of the airbag module (squib) even if you are using the specified tester. If the circuit resistance is measured with a tester, accidental airbag deployment will result in serious personal injury. |

Removal1.Disconnect the battery negative cable and wait for at least three minutes before beginning work.2.Remove the glove box housing.(Refer to Body - "Glove Box Upper Cover Assembly")3.

Replacement
When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver or use a prying trim tool, wrap it with protective tape, and apply protective tape around the related parts, to prevent damage.1.Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.2.Recover the refrigerant with a recovery / recycling / charging station.
