Hyundai Ioniq: Intake and Exhaust System / Air Cleaner. Repair procedures
Air Cleaner Assembly
1. | Disconnect the battery negative terminal. |
2. | Remove the air duct and air cleaner assembly. Tightening torque : Hose clamp : 2.9 - 4.9 N.m (0.3 - 0.5 kgf.m, 2.2 - 3.6 lb-ft) Air cleaner assembly bolts : 3.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.4 - 0.6 kgf.m, 2.9 - 4.3 lb-ft) |
(1) | Remove the air duct (A). Tightening torque : 3.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.4 - 0.6 kgf.m, 2.9 - 4.3 lb-ft) |

(2) | Disconnect the air intake hose (B). |
(3) | Disconnect the breather hose (C). |
(4) | Disconnect the air flow sensor (MAFS) and intake air temperature sensor (IATS) connector (D). |
(5) | Remove the air cleaner assembly (E).

3. | Install in the reverse order of removal. |
Air Cleaner Element Replacement
1. | Remove the clamp and open the air cleaner cover (A). 
|
2. | Replace the air cleaner element (A) with a new one.

| If there is any foreign substance inside the air cleaner assembly, clean the inside and replace the air cleaner element. |
|
|
3. | Close the air cleaner cover and engage the clamp. •
| When mounting an air cleaner cover, inspect the rubber seal (A) on the air cleaner cover and replace it if there is crack, tear, or wear on it. |

Whenever the front door is opened, the Engine Start/Stop button will illuminate
and will go off 30 seconds after the door is closed.
