DescriptionThe Electric EGR Control Valve is installed in between the EGR cooler and the exhaust line and is a solenoid valve. This valve controls EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) amount by the ECM's duty control signal depending on engine load and the need of intake air.

Inspection1.Turn the ignition switch OFF.2.Disconnect the mode control actuator connector.3.Verify that the mode control actuator operates to the defrost mode when connecting 12V to terminal 3 and grounding terminal 4.Verify that the mode control actuator operates to the vent mode when connected in reverse.
Removal1.Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.2.Remove the front / rear bumper cover.(Refer to Body - "Front Bumper Cover")(Refer to Body - "Rear Bumper Cover")3.Disconnect the connector (A) from the parking assist sensor.4.Remove the sensor (A) by pulling out both ends of the sensor holder.
