Hyundai Ioniq (AE): Engine Control System / Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKPS)
Inspection1.Turn the ignition switch OFF.2.Remove the ECTS.(Refer to "Removal")3.After immersing the thermistor of the sensor into engine coolant, measure resistance between the ECTS terminals 1 and 3.
DescriptionCrankshaft Position Sensor (CKPS) detects the crankshaft position and is one of the most important sensors of the engine control system. If there is no CKPS signal input, the engine may stop because of CKPS signal missing.

Replacement1.Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. 2.Remove the heater and blower assembly.(Refer to Heater - "Heater Unit") 3.Remove the evaporator core cover (A) after loosening the mounting screws.4.Pull out the evaporator temperature sensor (A) from the evaporator core.

Removal1.Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.2.Remove the front / rear bumper cover.(Refer to Body - "Front Bumper Cover")(Refer to Body - "Rear Bumper Cover")3.Disconnect the connector (A) from the parking assist sensor.4.Remove the sensor (A) by pulling out both ends of the sensor holder.
