Description
Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKPS) detects the crankshaft position and is one of the most important sensors of the engine control system. If there is no CKPS signal input, the engine may stop because of CKPS signal missing.
This sensor is installed in ladder frame and generates alternating current by magnetic flux field which is made by the sensor and the target wheel when the engine rotates. The target wheel consists of 58 slots and 2 missing slots on 360 CA (Crank Angle).

    Replacement1.Remove the battery (-) terminal.2.Remove the engine room under cover.(Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Room Under Cover")3.Remove the heater hose (A) and AEWP hose (B).4.Disconnect the lock pin to remove the heater hose pump connector (A).

    Inspection1.Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.2.Remove the crash pad lower panel.(Refer to Body - "Crash Pad Lower Panel")3.Remove the lower crash pad switch assembly (A) after disengaging the mounting clip.4.Remove the rheostat switch connector (A).
