Removal and Installation1.Remove the crankshaft damper pulley.(Refer to Timing System - "Crankshaft Damper Pulley")2.Remove the front oil seal (A).3.Apply engine oil to a new oil seal lip & outer surface.
RemovalEngine removal is not required for this procedure. • Be sure to read and follow the "General Safety Information and Caution" before doing any work related with the high voltage system.

Inspection1.Turn the ignition switch OFF.2.Disconnect the mode control actuator connector.3.Verify that the mode control actuator operates to the defrost mode when connecting 12V to terminal 3 and grounding terminal 4.Verify that the mode control actuator operates to the vent mode when connected in reverse.
