| • | Side Impact Sensors (SIS), each installed on the center part of the right and left front door modules and the right and left center pillars, detects side impact during collision. |
| • | The SRSCM uses the signals from SIS during side collision to determine whether and when to deploy the side air bag. |
Removal • Removal of the airbag must be performed according to the precautions/ procedures described previously.
Components1. Front Pressure Side Impact Sensor (P-SIS)2. Front Gravity Side Impact Sensor (G-SIS)
Replacement1.Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. 2.Remove the heater and blower assembly.(Refer to Heater - "Heater Unit") 3.Remove the evaporator core cover (A) after loosening the mounting screws.4.Pull out the evaporator temperature sensor (A) from the evaporator core.
